Craig Hill plays Jeff Sullivan, one of many gunman hired by Wells Fargo to track down the bandit Glenn Kovacs.
The one who accomplishes the mission will be showered in gold, the company promises.
Sullivan accepts the badge. After all, he has an old score to settle with Kovacs. And while he doesn’t know where Kovacs is hiding out, he knows his half-brother Dan Baker (Angel Aranda) is rotting away in prison. Free Baker, and he just might lead the way to the bandit he’s really searching for, Sullivan figures.
But a fellow Wells Fargo gunman named Corrales wants Baker for the $3,000 price on his head. And, once freed, Baker has ideas that don’t include getting turned in for bounty money.
There’s an old score to settle with a former lover named Myrna and a partner named Donovan. And the possibility of a new life with a lovely young lady named Susan.
Certainly not the worst of Hill’s many Spaghettis, this is a prolonged three-sided game of cat and mouse. all leading up to a three-sided shootout.
Poor Dan Barker is the film’s punching bag. Over the course of the film, he’s whipped, beaten by prison guards, shot and tied up with barb wire!
Hey, but he does land Maria Pia Conte, who’s ravishing as Susan.
Fernando Sancho, on the other hand, is rather annoying in an over-the-top performance that doesn’t quite fit the mood of the rest of the film.

Memorable lines:
Sullivan: “Barker, you leave me here alive and you’ll regret it.”
Barker: “That’ll just have to be one more thing I regret. Happy walking.”
Deputy: “I got four notches carved on my .45, Mr. Barker. How bout yours? Got a lot, too?”
Barker: “Just let me be.”:
Deputy: “I’d measure up to you easy enough, I believe.”
Barker: “So your notches haven’t made you as famous as you want to be, huh?”
Deputy: “They weren’t high-class notches like you’d be.”
Corrales, to the sheriff, pointing to his own badge: “Look here. Wells Fargo. This piece of tin gives me carta blancha. So now Corrales is legal.”
Sheriff: “You bastard.”
Corrales: “I know. A legal one.”
Corrales: “No jokes, Sullivan. Or I’ll double your belly button.”
Trivia:
About that title? Seems in Silvertown, the Wells Fargo’s detectives are nicknamed crows. At one point, the sheriff refers to the wounded Jeff Sullivan as a one-armed crow. And the crows certainly fill a few graves over the course of the film.
Two years before this film, Craig Hill starred in the bizarre “Assignment Terror.” Aliens from a dying planet come to Earth, bring two dead scientists back to life and use them to re-animate man’s most feared adversaries, like Frankenstein, the Mummy and the Werewolf. It’s all part of their plot to conquer the planet. HIll’s job: To uncover the dastardly plot.
Thanks for the great photographs as well as the interesting notes. I have a collection of over six hundred spaghetti euro westerns always looking for better copies than the ones I payed heaps for that were very poor transfers for tv to video when I was much younger I watched Craig Hill in an Australian TV series Whirlybirds (I am Australian) 81 years old a great many of the westerns to come out of Italy, Spain and Germany never fail to get a smile out of me whether it be the cardboard cati blowing in the wind to the ranch’s running supposedly thousands of cattle and almost not a blade of grass to be see but I am a wester tragic and have thousands of westerns in my collection my wife of almost 6 decades can hardly wait for me to vacate my room so she can pitch out the lot.
Wow, 600 Euro Westerns. If you know of any good ones I haven’t included in the blog, let me know and I’ll try to track them down to add them. I have about a dozen that I want to add, but only have non-English versions and am holding off hoping someone posts an English version to YouTube or somewhere else. Here’s an almost complete list of those in the blog. https://onceuponatimeinawestern.com/euro/ . Glad to know you’re enjoying what I’m posting. Thanks for reading / visiting!
