One of my favorite finds at Historicon 2024 was a stable set, part of the Old West terrain line from The Miniature Building Authority.
The seven-piece set sells for $14.95 online and offers a great way to spruce up your stable or blacksmith shop.
In fact, I bought two and plan to use some of the pieces to turn one of the empty 4Ground Old West buildings I have into a saddle shop.
Of course, the pieces in the middle of the photo above are designed to be wall-mounted, not sit flat the way I have them for photo-taking purposes.
MBA also has a second stable set that features haybales, crates, etc.
For all the saddle parts, I used a very quick painting strategy, giving them one coat of a brownish color of Vallejo paint, then washing the entire saddle with a Citadel Contrast paint, as described below.
