Anne Stobaugh plays Mei Lin. Her sister and her sister’s all-girl outlaw gang are massacred by Clyde Bannister and his own gang of hoodlums.
Now it’s time for revenge, and Mei Lin gets an offer she can’t refuse.
Seems Clyde has come across a small fortune in gold and he’s hidden it in the ghost town of Cripple Creek.
John Goodfellow, a former member of Clyde’s gang who was turned off by all the killing, wants that gold. So does his arrow-shooting sidekick, Julius.
So Mei and John join forces. But just to even the odds out, she recruits a new all-girl gang that includes sharpshooter Annie Mae (Sarah Kozer), Charlotte Walker, Maria Ledron and Maggie Rainer.
Once united, they head to Cripple Creek.
They might even get an assist from a Clyde Bannister acquaintance who goes by Tomahawk Jane.
Proof that making an entertaining Western in the “Bad Girls” vein isn’t as simple as putting some pretty girls on horses. The film opens with the Mei Lin gang washing up for the adventure ahead, and flashing some skin.
Well, that’s about as sexy as this one gets. And it sure would have helped if the cameraman could frame a shot. Or keep his subjects in focus. Or put them in proper lighting.
Perhaps this isn’t the dregs of low-budget Westerns, but it comes pretty close. The beyond-silly campfire discussion (see below) between Tomahawk Jane (who barely ever uses her tomahawk) and the medicine man at the start of the movie is just a sign of what’s to come.
Even the action is atrociously filmed. Shots ring out. People fall dead. Oh, we do get some excellent closeups of bullets on their path to a victim. That’s about as creative as this mess gets.
Toss in some rap songs, and you’ve got one hot mess. Well, really, it’s not even hot.
