Two bandits — Wyatt Taggert and his younger brother Dalton — decide to hold up a payroll wagon.
In the process, they unleash a mystical force that turns one of the guards (Esteban Powell) into a collector of spirits. Wyatt Taggert is his first.
Twenty years later, Dalton breaks out of jail with fellow inmates Willy and Briggs and sets out in search of revenge against the man who killed his brother.
A Texas Ranger named John and his son Sam (Jack Littman) have a mission, too — recapturing the escaped convicts.
All paths lead to a strange town named Shiloh Falls, where the inhabitants look normal, but don’t eat or drink, and spend nights helping the Collector claim yet more spirits.
Edward and Mary Jones are the father and daughter who’ve been stuck in Shiloh Falls, unable to find a way out.
They team up with the Texas Ranger, his son and the outlaws in a fight for survival.
Yet another of the Western-horror hybrids to surface recently, and far from the best. Brad Greenquist steals the show as Dalton Taggert, which isn’t saying a ton, given the quality of acting here.
The ending is so simplistic … well, it’s just plain silly considering the build up to that point.
For comic relief, there’s a sheriff who wants to show off his draw every time someone enters his jail.

Memorable lines:
Sam: “You’re always telling me what I can and can’t do. What I’m going to be. Ever thought to ask me what I wanna be?”
Ranger John: “Why would I do that?”
Sam: “Because I’m your son, dammit.”
Dalton, to Ranger John: “My life is my damn business and he (Sam) saved it by bringing us here.”
Ranger John: “He didn’t save your life, he just postponed your death.”
Dalton: “You got a plan?”
Ranger John: “Yeah, we’re gonna go in there and take him (the Collector) down.”
Dalton: “Maybe you missed it when my partner’s soul was getting sucked out of his body, but them things ain’t human.”
Ranger John: “You got a better plan?”
Dalton: Silence.
Ranger John: “Let’s go.”
