Isaac Broadway is on his way to the gallows when he spots his son, Henry (Brandon Lessard) in the crowd.
Before dying, he makes Henry promise to travel to Trinity, Montana, and kill the sheriff who framed him.
So Henry heads off to Trinity, carrying a pistol and his father’s urn. When Henry sees the sheriff wander into church alone, he follows, intent on revenge.
Then, at the point of a pistol, he discovers he has the wrong sheriff.
The sheriff Henry came to kill, Sol Butler, already occupies a grave in the church cemetery.
The sheriff holding the pistol aimed his way is Gabriel Dove (Pierce Brosnan), trying to keep the peace in a town where some folks would like to hang a Blackfoot girl named Running Club for putting the former sheriff in that grave.
Uncertain what to do next, Henry winds up allied with St. Christopher (Samuel L. Jackson).
He was at Isaac Broadway’s hanging too, with a smile on his face.
Seems back during the Civil War, they conspired to steal a small fortune in Confederate gold, then hired a Blackfoot couple to guide them West.
The Blackfoot couple, Running Club’s parents, wound up dead. St. Christopher wound up being sold back into slavery, by none other than his gold-stealing partner.
As for the gold, it’s never been found. But St. Christopher suspects it might be buried in Trinity. And that Henry might have a clue about where it’s hidden.

Review:
Hey, Pierce Brosnan and Samuel L. Jackson in the same Western. One with no shortage of horses and several well-filmed action scenes.
One that received a wide theatrical release.
For Western fans in 2025, that’s almost the equivalent of finding a stash of gold.
Unfortunately, the plot’s a bit of a complicated mess. So, was Henry’s dad a villain or a hero? Was he framed by anyone? And if he’s a thief and traitor, why in the world is Gabriel Dove worried if Henry misses out on his legacy?
Fortunately, you can ponder those questions after enjoying a delightful performance from Jackson. Lessard? He makes a likeable lead. Brosnan? He looks at home back out West, though he comes across as way too indestructible as the film races toward a large-scale climatic showdown.
You’ll also spot his son Paris playing the son of the man who wants Running Club’s hide. And Ethan Peck, Gregory’s grandson, as a bartender in Trinity.
