Billie the Kid (2022)

Olivia Hus is Billie the Kid, a restless gal with a quick gun and a price on her head.

She warns partner Kansas that heading into town isn’t a good idea, but he insists they need supplies.

Turns out she was right. Immediately identified by the local law, Billie and Kansas quickly wind up behind bars, facing a date with a noose.

Then ranchers start turning up dead in the area around town.

And new sheriff Jack Barton (Frank Prell) decides that between her knack with a gun and her knowledge of the area, Billie might be useful in helping track down those responsible.

So off they set with a posse that includes Barton’s deputy, two other townsmen and bounty hunter James Underhill (Zion Monroe).

Underhill warns them that vampires could be responsible for the killings. Back in England, he claims, vampires are more than a myth.

Naturally, none of these cowboys believe in vampires. But evidence is mounting that Underhill might be right, in the form of two tiny bite marks on the necks of the deceased.

Review:

Who would have thought that nearly 60 years after “Billy the Kid vs. Dracula” (1965) was released, there’d be another film featuring vampires and a quick gun named Billie.

Of course, the twist is that this Billie is a woman, played by Olivia Hsu. She’s quite pretty. Unfortunately, she’s not all that convincing as a tough-as-nails lady gunman who insists she’s no lady.

Still, she delivers one of the better performances in a film in which characters spend way too much time talking around the campfire at night and the cowboys seem to have picked up their costumes at the local Wal-Mart.

The film has some camp value. Heck, there’s a horse named Nightmare and an anti-vampire treasure map.

And you could always turn it into a drinking game. Take a shot every time director Paul Tomberello uses a moon zipping across the sky to reflect that passing of time. Guaranteed, you’ll be well past tipsy when the credits roll.
