Kellen Garner is Joe Goode, a notorious outlaw posing as a whiskey drummer who seduces Daisy Potter, the banker’s wife.
He’s got her thinking they might have a future together, a future that could be financed by her husband’s savings.
So they head off to the bank to make a withdrawal. What Daisy doesn’t know is that it’s all a ruse to rob her husband’s bank.
What Joe Goode doesn’t anticipate is that cousin Mack (Chris Cleveland), freshly broken out of jail, will show up at the bank with the rest of the gang, guns blazing.
Instead of the slick, quiet bank robbery and smooth getaway Joe Goode was anticipating, a deadly shootout erupts on the streets of New Salem.
The gang has a falling out. The posse tracks them to their hideout. By the time the shooting ends, Joe has fled with a satchel full of gold and loot.
He won’t be alone for long. Doc John McQueen (Charlie Green), who’s best friend died back in New Salem, tracks him down.
And on the trip back to town, they stumble upon a grisly scene. The only survivors — a midwife named Willow Polly (Aria Song) and a baby named Jane, who might be cursed.
At least she’s cursed in the fact that a beast from the hills has killed every other member of her family. And now wants to finish the job.

Directors Kellen Garner and Christopher Sheffield served up a fine Western with 2020’s “Road to Revenge.”
Here, they reassemble several of the same cast members. The result is one of the best horror Westerns you’ll find.
The first half of the film plays out like a standard Western. With the exception that it doesn’t look nearly as low-budget as most Westerns released in the 2020s and everyone who has lines can actually act.
Then the demon shows up. And suddenly stars Kellen Garner and Charlie Green — both of whom turn in fine performances — have more to worry about than an angry gang of outlaws.
Speaking of fine performances, Chris Cleveland makes for one heck of a villain as Joe’s cousin, Mack Goode.
