Red Cavanaugh (Anthony Michael Hall) has a date with a hangman’s noose before the other members of the Blackwater Gang show up to free him, led by half-brother Guerrero (Danny Trejo).
Now Red proposes a big score. Seems miners in the town of Edendale, Colorado, have struck gold.
But there’s a dispute over who the gold belongs to. Until it can be sorted out, all that precious mineral is being stored in thee town bank under orders of Sheriff Bob Massey.
So off to Edendale the gang rides. Robbing the bank is easy. Deciding what to do next? That’s where the brothers have a difference of opinion.
Guerrero wants to get out of town fast, lest someone else wind up in jail with a death with a hangman.
Red wants to hang around and take over the town.
When Guerrero balks, Red kills him. The other gang members — Baptiste, Darko, Ramos, Snake and Washington — help fill his body with lead.
Confronted by Lucifer (Mickey Rourke), Guerrero offers a trade: His soul for the six belonging to the other members of the Blackwater gang.
Lucifer agrees, provided they all die at Guerrero’s hand. And they all die within 24 hours.
If you like your Westerns with tons of action and a touch of the supernatural, this film is for you. But beware: The plot is paper thin, and doesn’t hold up to very close scrutiny in a couple of spots.
For instance, just freed from spending six months in prison, Red proposes the Edendale job. And says he’s the only one who knows about the stash of gold in the sheriff’s office. Hmm. Just how did he come up with that piece of knowledge?
Dina Meyer is the sheriff’s widow, determined to help Guerrero, whether he wants her assistance of not. Colin Mace plays Judah Clark, a businessman who is somehow in cahoots with Red and his gang.

Guerrero: “I raised you, Rojo. We’re brothers.”
Red: “We’re half-brothers. The only blood we share is from a whore.”

Guerrero: “Where am I?”
Lucifer: “Somewhere south of heaven.”
Calathea: “I don’t care if you are the spawn of hell. I’ll ride with you.”
Guerrero: “It’s personal.”
Calathea: “Red Cavanaugh murdered my husband in cold blood. Ain’t nothing more personal than that.”
Guerrero: “Then you can dance on his grave. But til I’m through, stay out of my way.”
