From Hell to the Wild West (2017)

Robert “Bronzi” Kovacs is a man being hunted by posses and by the law for a string of killings he didn’t commit.

He knows who the real killer is. That “devil” is still lurking in a nearby town, where all the residents have either been killed or fled during his reign of terror.

But that isn’t going to stop the killer. He’s posted ads in all the surrounding communities, seeking new hostesses to work in the town’s lone saloon.

Of course, he’s looking less for hostesses than for new prey. And the ploy works, more than once.

In fact, a refined lady named Mrs. Stanton (Karin Brauns) has just arrived with her servant girl Hannah (Alanna Forte).

Mrs. Stanton has spied Hannah making love to Mr. Stanton. She plans to dump Hannah off in this wild West town so she can use her “hostess” skills on other men instead.

To the killer, both women are nothing but potential victims.

Meanwhile, the hunted man has finally found a lawman who believes his story. Marshal Patterson suggests they both return to the deserted town to find the real killer.

Flash forward to current day, and a college student has been assigned the task of digitizing the journal of a servant girl named Hannah.

The horrors she writes about sound disturbingly familiar. Could the killer be the one and only Jack the Ripper, relocated to the western frontier?

Review:

This film features a Charles Bronson look-alike in Kovacs, a marshal who will remind you of a young Arnold Schwarzenegger and plenty of eye candy in the form of an attractive female cast.

That’s not enough to lift it above what you’d expect after seeing the DVD cover — a low-budget slasher film transported to the American West.

CGI-generated blood splatters and an Old West town that looks more like a dude ranch or tourist attraction add to the low-budget feel.

As for our villain, he’s a tormented individual who dons a hood to do his killing, chases his victims around with a clever and has female body parts hanging from the rafters in his home.

The good news is a 73-minute runtime and the presence of the lovely Alanna Forte, who remains loyal to Mrs. Stanton despite the danger she’s put both of them in.

Marshal Patterson: “You stated a crazy man did the killings.
The hunted man: “He was more like a devil.”
Marshal: “The precise term: a psychopath. But you’re right, he is from hell.”

Marshal to the hunted man: “Let’s get this bastard and clear your name.”

Mrs. Stanton to Hannah, explaining why she’s dropping her off in a Western town: “You practiced being a whore with my husband. Now you can do it professionally.”

Marshal: “Where is everyone?”
The hunted man: “Either dead of run away. I’m the only one fool enough to come back.”
