The holdup and the delay are most alarming to Deputy Kirk Flamer (Richard Devon), one of those passengers.
He was trying to get to Boone City as quickly as possible to prevent what he fears will be a deadly showdown for good friend Clint Rust.
Kirk and Clint became deputies serving under Clint’s uncle J.D. Then a third deputy, Ward Canepa, went bad, stole a gold shipment and killed J.D.
Clint is on his Canepa’s trail, determined to deliver justice with a gun, even though his uncle frowned on lawmen who serve as judge, jury and executioner.
That’s just one reason Kirk wants to catch up with Clint before he finds the maniacal Ward Canepa.

Review:
A little known and crudely filmed low-budget Western written by star Richard Devon and actor James Craig, who appeared in more than a dozen Westerns from the 1940s through the 1960s.
The script might be the best thing about the movie. Director Rick Freers takes the interesting approach of hiding the villain’s face until it’s time for the climatic showdown.
Despite what the title suggest, this isn’t a survival Western. Very little time is spent on the plight of the thirsty stage passengers.
Instead, the focus is on the characters fretting over Clint Rust’s pursuit of Ward Canepa. After all, those passengers include a woman in love with Rust and a woman secretly married to Canepa.
Then there’s Kirk Flamer, who has watched his friend survive on good luck and gumption and suspects those won’t be enough when he goes up against a mad man like Wade Canepa.
