Where the Wind Blows (2025)

Trevor Donovan is Chase Logan, a cowboy whose saddlemate is killed in a saloon over cheating allegations in a poker game.

So he winds up with the unfortunate task of breaking the news the man’s widow.

He arrives at the Strong ranch to find that Jessie Strong (Ashley Elaine) is a much younger widow than he expected.

And she’s a young widow with a unique problem. She’s about to adopt a young girl named Sarah from the same orphanage where she grew up.

But she’s certain the orphanage won’t go through with the adoption if they find out Nathan Strong is dead.

And so Chase Logan pretends to be Nathan Strong. For a while. And Jessie Strong winds up adopting two children instead of one.

Over time, the cowboy who’s always had a case of wanderlust begins to fall for Jessie. And Jessie begins to fall for Chase Logan.

But both are saddled with a past that could come back to haunt them.

Review:

An entertaining Western in the family film / love story mold. In other words, don’t expect gore. Or lots of action for that matter.

Viewers will be in for lots of contrived drama, a movie that’s overly melodramatic in parts, uneven in others and features some scenes straight out of a not-so-wild West fairytale.

Fortunately, the two likeable leads help pull it off.

Do not watch the film because C. Thomas Howell is in the cast list. He appears in one scene at the beginning of the film, then winds up in a pool of blood on the saloon floor.

But, hey, he is the reason Chase Logan and Jessie Strong wind up meeting.
